The ethics of durable design

When sustainability is discussed, materials and production processes are often the first aspects that come to mind. At Paola Lenti, however, an even more fundamental value lies at its origin: durability.

An ethical principle that finds expression in the in-house development of mono-material textiles and products designed for easy disassembly, in the recovery of textile remnants, and in a production entirely based in Italy.
It is at the heart of the company’s design process that responsibility takes shape, finding expression every day through tangible choices.

Within the Research and Development Centre, the creative and production process is driven by a close-knit team of professionals working in constant dialogue with engineers, prototypists and artisans, both within and beyond the company.
Through collaborations with research institutes and certification bodies, the team develops sustainable solutions, transforming designers’ visions into original, one-of-a-kind products.

Dedicated departments within the company preserve and cultivate the manual skills that are fundamental to our production. Here, techniques such as sewing, weaving and embroidery are taught and passed on, ensuring the continuity of rare and highly specialized expertise developed through years of experience and shared practice.
